Mrs. Koehler’s Grade Five Supply List 2018-2019
Welcome to fifth grade. This year will be an interesting and exciting one with many projects and activities. In order for you to be prepared for school, I would like to have the following materials for the FIRST DAY OF school. Please label all supplies with your child’s name.
*1 one subject, spiral notebooks labeled→ green (Science)
*4 composition notebooks. labeled→ Red (Reader’s Workshop) Blue(Social Studies) yellow (Math)
and Free choice design (Reflection Journal)
*5 durable folders, labeled by subject- yellow(Math), red(Reading), green(Science), blue(Social Studies) and
Purple (Writing)
*1 sturdy plastic folder of free choice design Labeled→(To Be Finished)
*2 different colored highlighters (light colors)
*erasers (Stanford magic erasers work best)
*pencil case (soft with a zipper please to avoid the crash of a fallen pencil box)
*many many many glue sticks (these will need to replaced.. we glue often, bring in 4, leave the rest at home)
*a pair of scissors with a plastic handle (write your name on them)
*pens (various colors)
*box of pencils (sharpened please)
*1 small hand-held pencil sharpener (with attached container for shavings)
*sticky notes 3x3 square. (We will go through a lot of these. Bring in two packs, leave the rest at home)
*crayons or colored pencils (small package)
*1 12-inch ruler (with inches and centimeters marked)
*sturdy metal magazine rack (to hold folders and notebooks on the floor)
*black sharpie markers fine tip and regular (colors optional)
*dry erase markers (skinny) We will go through many of these, bring in 4, leave the rest at home
*1 box of kleenex (for the class to share)
*backpack (WITHOUT WHEELS please, our coat closet is small and is a fire exit out of our classroom,
backpacks cannot sit on the floor, they must hang)
*headphones (we ask that each child have their own in a ziploc bag with their name printed on it, the more durable the better!)

Baby wipes kleenex glue sticks ribbon cardstock straws
dry erase markers index cards glitter craft sticks foam letters coffee filters
sharpies paper plates paper lunch bags pipe cleaners sandwich bags sticky notes
